MTFU-SIT 02: ELEPHANT CAMP TOURS
Nature grows undisturbed in our private preserved, where we plan to include a Myanmar elephant camp. We are offering the opportunity to learn about Mahouts and their Elephants, as well as seeing elephants in their retirement at their home land in nature.
There are some famous elephant camps in Myanmar.
(1) Green Hill Valley (Elephant Camp with Re-Plantation)
(2) Myaing Hay Wun (Elephant Camp)
(3) Pho Kyar Forest Resort (Elephant Camp)
(1) Green Hill Valley (Elephant Camp with Re-Plantation)-Best of South East Asia
(Program A)
– Come straight to Magway elephant camp from Kalaw (45mins drive).
– Welcome by our team and inform about project (necessary information about camp will be given by English speaking staff).
– Walk (5-7mins) to elephant village and see the life of mahouts with their families.
– Time to introduce with our elephants and feed them our daily prepared food. Then team will lead you to the river where elephant bath and you can join for washing elephants like your owned pet.
– Riding is not our main focus. We will let you be in touch with our elephants as Mahouts during the washing time.
– Lunch will be served at the main camp.
– You may able to have more information about elephants and forest (from our speakers). Then, you may explore around the forest area, opportunity to see butterflies, birds and orchids in our conservation area, if clients want to spend longer time in the nature. (own exploration).
– You are also welcome to join us by planting one regional tree for forest recovery efforts.
– Return to main camp and enjoy the view through valley.
– Drive back to Kalaw.
(Program B)
– Meet at Wet Pyu Ye junction, where our trek guide is waiting.
– Walk to the camp, opportunity to help in our re-plantation project.
– See the elephants coming through the river. (Clients can bath the elephants and feed the elephants with their Mahouts) if they wish!
– Riding is not our main focus. We will let you be in touch with our elephants as Mahouts during the washing time.
– Chance to see butterflies, birds and orchids along the trek.
– Arrived to our elephant village
– Lunch will be served at the main camp.
– Return to main road by feet.
– Back to Kalaw.

(2) MYAING HAY WUN (ELEPHANT CAMP)
Myaing Hay Wun (Elephant Camp); Located in Taikkyi Township of Yangon Division, Myaing Hay Wun Elephant Camp covers an area of 10 acres. It is easily accessible by car from Yangon to Taikkyi Township and only about 1 & half hours drive. The distance is about 48 miles on the Yangon-Mandalay Highway Road.
The wildlife in this camp include Elephant, Guar, Banteng, Barking deer, Wild boar, Hare Wild cat, Green Peafowl, Ruddy sheld duck, Hill myna, Blossom-headed parakeet, Pheasant, Red jungle fowl, Quail, Dove, Duck, lesser tree duck, Butterflies, Moths, Snakes, Monitar lizard, Ground lizard and Chameleon.
Everyone can enjoy by riding elephant about 45 minutes. Along the trekking journey by riding elephant you will see beauty and serenities of natural virgin forest it’s surrounding would be unforgettable.
Tourists can also see the bathing of the elephants with their mahouts. Observe the fetching of elephant in the jungle, how elephant bathe in the stream, the setting of elephant equipment, how to make the extraction near the Resort, elephant show, medical treatment of elephant and discuss care and management of elephant by veterinarian. It is available for October to April.
(3) PHO KYAR FOREST (ELEPHANT CAMP)
Pho Kyar Forest Resort (Elephant Camp): Pho Kyar Forest Resort is located in Yaedarshae Township of Thargara. It is 10 miles 2 furlong from Thargara, in the area of Swa forest reserve area, on the bank of Thaing creek.
The resort has 20 acres in area, which is larger than Myaing Hay Wun Elephant Camp. This forest can be accessed from Yangon to Swa Township, Thargara by car is 204 miles. From Thargara to Pho Kyar Resort the drive by car is 10 miles all seasons.
Like many other forest resorts, it has a great opportunity to study natural forest plants including different species of hardwood, large forests teak wood, other valuable forest plants different life span bamboos, cane and different flora. Tour offers elephant riding for short trips and long trips. Bathing and washing elephants can also be viewed. It is available for October to April.
